An information-packed workshop focused on helping new and beginning producers create successful agricultural enterprises comes to Greene County on Wednesday, Feb. 24. New and Beginning Farmer Night runs from 6 to 8 pm with a light meal served at 5:30 pm and will be held at the Grand Junction Community Center. Reservations are due Friday, Friday 19.
Topics include State of Iowa beginning farmer loan and tax credit programs; USDA beginning farmer loans and programs; resources from ISU Extension and Outreach; and developing a success plan.
Leading the workshop will be Steve Ferguson, Iowa Finance Authority, Ag Development Division; Anthony Hunziker, FSA farm loan manager; and Shane Ellis, ISU Extension farm management specialist.
